![]() Unlike Arcade mode each bout of Story Mode consists of fighting 3 or four enemies in a single round except when fighting a boss. ![]() In Story Mode characters generally either seek to acquire Soul Calibur (the benevolent sword) or destory Soul Edge (the malevolent sword) for those with positive alignment, and the opposite for characters with negative. Each character is assigned either positive or negative alignment, which only affects gameplay slightly for the skills which either increase or decrease depending on like or dissimilar alignment of the characters fightering. The Story Mode starts with a text introduction, there is a mini-boss half way through which is always one of 4 characters depending on the character the player has selected, and finally the final boss which is usually Algol. The guest characters are from the Star Wars Universe: Apprentice, Darth Vader and Yoda (Vader must be purchased as dlc for XBOX, and Yoda for Playstation).Įach character's story is told in Story mode.
